My name is Zach Plesent, and I am finishing my fifth year of rabbinical school at HUC-JIR in New York City. I grew up in Larchmont, NY, where I was an active member of Larchmont Temple - the place that first showed me the possibilities of what my rabbinate could include.
I attended college at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, where I double majored in Political Science and Jewish Studies. Afterwards, I moved back to New York where I worked as a full-time Jewish Educator at Central Synagogue in Manhattan for two years, before moving to Jerusalem to begin my rabbinical school journey.
While in school, I have been privileged to work with communities in Laramie, WY, New York, NY, Greenwich, CT, and for the last three years in White Plains, NY.
While not in school, you can find me getting lost in Central Park, playing my guitar, or watching West Wing reruns.
